The Cocoon Coat is the embodiment of a big warm hug - metaphorically as the vintage Aussie wool blankets they are made from evoke so much nostalgia, and practically as they are just so cosy and warm.
Pure wool, lined with cotton sateen, a soft lapel that wraps over or folds back and giant double pockets with room to safely pop your phone or keys while you bury your hands in away from the cold. The long curved back and dense fabric keeps the wind out while the open front and
soft shoulder line make for a comfy fit and flexible sizing. Bracelet length sleeves make it less cumbersome and won't get in your way like most heavy jackets and has a cuff you can turn up or down.
Each Coat has its own character in texture, from the weight, weave and drape of the original blanket and then the level of love it received prior to upcycling. I always use blankets in excellent preloved condition and cut around obvious flaws like marks or holes but please expect some overall natural variation that is consistent with second hand materials.
